Canadian Bacon: The Forgotten War With Canada

Canadian Bacon: The Forgotten War With Canada

Canadian Bacon is a 1995 comedy film which satirizes Canada – United States relations along the Canada – United States border written, directed and produced by Michael Moore, his only non-documentary feature. It was screened in the UN Certain Regard section at the 1995 Cannes Film Festival,  and has the distinction of being the final completed film to star John Candy (despite having been filmed before Wagons East!).

The President of the United States (Alan Alda) has not led his country into war, and his approval rating falls. His National Security Advisor Stuart Smiley (Kevin Pollak) suggests Canada as a new enemy based on a news segment about a brawl between Canadians and Americans over national beer preference. A local American sheriff Bud Boomer (John Candy), who was responsible for the brawl, is caught up in the idea of invading Canada and leads fellow Americans to the country to commit the "most serious of all" Canadian crimes, littering. The so-called invasion is foiled, but because of Boomer's actions, the fabricated war turns into a real one. -Wikipidia

Darth Vader: Riding a Harley

Darth Vader - Riding a Harley

Darth Vader (born Anakin Skywalker) is the central character of the Star Wars saga,[1][2][3] appearing as one of the main antagonists of the original trilogy and as the main protagonist of the prequel trilogy.

The character was created by George Lucas and numerous actors have portrayed him. His appearances span all six Star Wars films, and he is an important character in the expanded universe of television series, video games, novels, literature and comic books. The films establish that there was originally a Jedi Knight named Anakin who fell to the dark side of the Force;[4] he is also revealed to be the father of both Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia Organa, the two main protagonists of the original trilogy. After turning to the Dark Side, Vader is a ruthless henchman of Emperor Palpatine; he secretly intends to overthrow Palpatine to establish himself as ruler of the Empire. Vader is ultimately revealed to have personal honor in Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi, when he sacrifices himself to save his son, Luke. -Wikipedia

Marijuana Prohibition Costs Billions, Legalization Would Earn Billions -Read More

In 2007, 872,720 people were arrested for marijuana in America.
89% of those were for possession.
8 million Americans have been arrested on marijuana charges during the past 10 years.

ANNUAL AMERICAN DEATHS CAUSED BY DRUGS
TOBACCO …………………… 400,000
ALCOHOL …………………… 100,000
ALL LEGAL DRUGS ………….20,000
ALL ILLEGAL DRUGS ……….15,000
CAFFEINE …………………….2,000
ASPIRIN ………………………500
MARIJUANA …………………. 0

Like most Americans, people who smoke marijuana also pay taxes, love and support their families, and work hard to make a better life for their children. Suddenly they are arrested, jailed and treated like criminals solely because of their recreational drug of choice. State agencies frequently step in and declare children of marijuana smokers to be “in danger”, and many children are placed into foster homes as a result.
This causes enormous pain, suffering and financial hardship for millions of American families. -Legalization of Marijuana.com

Lingerie Football

Lingerie Football

The Legends Football League (LFL) is a women's 7-on-7 tackle American football league, created in 2009, with games played in the fall and winter at NBA, NFL, NHL and MLS arenas and stadiums. The league was founded by Mitch Mortaza as the Lingerie Football League, and was rebranded as the Legends Football League in 2013.[1][2] The league's administrative offices are in Las Vegas, Nevada. The concept originated from the Super Bowl halftime alternative television special called the Lingerie Bowl, a pay-per-view event broadcast annually opposite the Super Bowl halftime show.

Playing style is full-contact and similar to other indoor football leagues. Uniforms consist of shoulder pads, elbow pads, knee pads, garters, bras, panties, and ice hockey-style helmets with clear plastic visors in lieu of face masks.

There are no field goals and no punts. There is a kickoff to start the game and second half.[3] A team must attempt to get a first down on every fourth down. After a touchdown, a team can attempt a one-point conversion from the one yard line, or a two-point conversion from the three yard line.

There are seven women on each side of the 50-yard field, one fewer than the eight players usually found in arena football or other indoor leagues. Teams consist of 20 players, only 14 of whom are active on game day. This means that there are usually three or four players who play both offense and defense.

The standard offensive formation features 1 quarterback, 2 running backs, 1 center, and 3 wide receivers. The standard defensive formation features 2 defensive linewomen, 2 linebackers, 2 cornerbacks, and 1 safety.

The field is 50-yards between end zones, 30 yards wide, and the end zones are 8 yards deep, roughly the same as other indoor leagues.[4]

A game consists of two 17-minute halves, separated by a 12-minute halftime. In the event of a tie, one or more 8-minute sudden-death overtimes are played until a victor is determined.

Prior to the 2013 season, the Legends Football League was unique among indoor football leagues in that it played its games during the traditional fall football season rather than the spring.

Each team is loosely patterned after, and uses the same color scheme as, a professional football team in the area. Most of the time, the teams are based on NFL teams, although in cities without NFL teams, UFL (Las Vegas, Orlando), and former NFL (Los Angeles) teams' color schemes have been used. In Canada, the teams are based on either CFL teams (Toronto, Regina) or ice hockey teams (BC, Saskatoon). All but two of the LFL's teams use singular nicknames, a property shared by other women's sports leagues such as the WNBA and WPS. -Wikipedia

Ann-Margret : Sexy with a six shooter

Ann-Margret : Sexy with a six shooter

Ann-Margret Olsson (born April 28, 1941) is a Swedish-American actress, singer, and dancer whose professional name is Ann-Margret. She is best known for her roles in Bye Bye Birdie (1963), Viva Las Vegas (1964), The Cincinnati Kid (1965), Carnal Knowledge (1971), and Tommy (1975). She has won five Golden Globe Awards and been nominated for two Academy Awards, two Grammy Awards, a Screen Actors Guild Award, and six Emmy Awards. In 2010, she won her first Emmy Award for her guest appearance on Law & Order: SVU. . In 1961, she filmed a screen test at 20th Century Fox and was signed to a seven-year contract. Ann-Margret made her film debut in a loan-out to United Artists in Pocketful of Miracles, with Bette Davis. It was a remake of the 1933 movie Lady for a Day. Both versions were directed by Frank Capra.

Then came a 1962 remake of Rodgers and Hammerstein's musical State Fair, playing the "bad girl" role of Emily opposite Bobby Darin and Pat Boone. She had tested for the part of Margy, the "good girl," but she seemed too seductive to the studio bosses, who decided on the switch.[7] The two roles mimicked her real-life personality — shy and reserved offstage, but wildly exuberant and sensuous onstage. As she summed up in her autobiography, she would easily transform herself from "Little Miss Lollipop to Sexpot-Banshee" once she stepped on stage and the music began.[8] Her next starring role, as the all-American teenager Kim from Sweet Apple, Ohio, in Bye Bye Birdie (1963), made her a major star. The premiere at Radio City Music Hall, 16 years after her first visit to the famed theater, was a smash hit: the highest first-week grossing film to date at that venue. Life magazine put her on the cover for the second time and announced that the "torrid dancing almost replaces the central heating in the theater."[9]

She was asked to sing "Baby, Won't You Please Come Home" at President John F. Kennedy's private birthday party at the Waldorf-Astoria, one year after Marilyn Monroe's famous "Happy Birthday." Ann-Margret met Elvis Presley on the MGM soundstage when the two filmed Viva Las Vegas (1964). Ann-Margret introduced Presley to David Winters, whom she recommended as a choreographer for their film. Viva Las Vegas was Winters' first feature film choreography job and was his first of four movies with Presley and his first of five films, including Kitten with a Whip (1964), Bus Riley's Back in Town (1965), Made in Paris (1966) and The Swinger (1966), and two TV specials with Ann-Margret.[11] Ann-Margret was Winters's dance student at the time and Winters credits Ann-Margret as being 'that special person who changes your life'.[12] Winters was nominated for the 1970 Emmy Award for 'Outstanding Achievement in Choreography' for his CBS Television Special: "Ann-Margret: From Hollywood with Love" (1969) -Wikipedia

Revenge of the Nerd Quotes
Stan Gable: Those nerds are a threat to our way of life.
Gibert: I just wanted to say that I'm a nerd, and I'm here tonight to stand up for the rights of other nerds. I mean uh, all our lives we've been laughed at and made to feel inferior. And tonight, those bastards, they trashed our house. Why? Cause we're smart? Cause we look different? Well, we're not. I'm a nerd, and uh, I'm pretty proud of it.
Lewis: Hi, Gilbert. I'm a nerd too. I just found that out tonight. We have news for the beautiful people. There's a lot more of us than there are of you. I know there's alumni here tonight. When you went to Adams you might've been called a spazz, or a dork, or a geek. Any of you that have ever felt stepped on, left out, picked on, put down, whether you think you're a nerd or not, why don't you just come down here and join us. Okay? Come on.
Gibert: Just join us cos uh, no-one's gonna really be free until nerd persecution ends.

Britney Spears: Glee

 Britney Spears: Glee

Britney Jean Spears (born December 2, 1981) is an American recording artist and entertainer. Born in McComb, Mississippi, and raised in Kentwood, Louisiana, she began performing as a child, landing acting roles in stage productions and television shows. She signed with Jive Records in 1997 and released her debut studio album ...Baby One More Time in 1999, which became the best-selling album by a teenage solo artist.[2] During her first decade in the music industry, she became a prominent figure in mainstream popular music and popular culture, followed by a much-publicized personal life. Her first two albums established her as a pop icon and broke sales records, while title tracks "...Baby One More Time" and "Oops!... I Did It Again" became international number-one hits. Spears was credited with influencing the revival of teen pop during the late 1990s, and became the 'best-selling teenaged artist of all time' before she turned 20,[3] garnering her honorific titles such as "Princess of Pop".[4]

In 2001, she released her third album Britney and expanded her brand, playing the starring role in the film Crossroads. She assumed creative control of her fourth studio album, In the Zone (2003), which yielded chart-topping singles "Me Against the Music", "Toxic" and "Everytime". After the release of two compilation albums, Spears experienced personal struggles and her career went into hiatus. Her fifth studio album, Blackout (2007), spawned hits "Gimme More" and "Piece of Me" despite receiving little promotion. In 2008, her erratic behavior and hospitalizations caused her to be placed in a conservatorship. Later in the year, her sixth album Circus was released, with the global chart-topping lead single "Womanizer", and hits such as "Circus" and "If U Seek Amy". She embarked on her highest-grossing global concert tour,[5] The Circus Starring Britney Spears, in 2009. In October of the same year, she released a chart-topping single, "3", which became her third single to reach number one on the Billboard Hot 100. Her seventh album Femme Fatale (2011) became the first of her albums to yield three top ten singles in the United States, "Hold It Against Me", "Till the World Ends" and "I Wanna Go". The same year, she gained her fifth number one single when she featured on the remix of "S&M" alongside Rihanna.

Spears's work has earned her numerous awards and accolades, including a Grammy Award, 6 MTV Video Music Awards including the Lifetime Achievement Award, 9 Billboard Music Awards, and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. In 2009, Billboard ranked her as the 8th overall Artist of the Decade,[6] and also recognized her as the best-selling female artist of the first decade of the 21st century, as well as the fifth overall.[7] The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) also recognized Spears as the eighth top-selling female artist in the United States, with 34 million certified albums.[8] Nielsen SoundScan ranked Spears the tenth best-selling digital artist of the country, with more than 28.6 million digital singles as of January 2012.[9] She has sold over 100 million albums worldwide, making her one of the best-selling music artists of all time.[10] Rolling Stone recognized her instant success as one of the Top 25 Teen Idol Breakout Moments of all time,[11] while VH1 ranked her eleventh on their "100 Greatest Women in Music" list in 2012,[12] and Billboard named her the sexiest woman in music.[13] Forbes also revealed that Spears was the highest paid female musician of 2012, ranking in $58 million, having last topped the list in 2002. -Wikipedia

Courteney Cox: Cougar Town II

Cougar Town is an American television sitcom that premiered on ABC on September 23, 2009, but aired on TBS from early 2013.[1] Set in Gulfhaven, Florida (nicknamed "Cougar Town" since its high school teams are the Cougars[2]), the series focuses on a recently divorced woman in her forties facing the often humorous challenges, pitfalls, and rewards of life's next chapter, along with her son, ex-husband, and wine-loving[3] friends who together make up her dysfunctional, but supportive and caring extended family.[4] The pilot episode of the show was broadcast after Modern Family. ABC officially gave the series a full season pickup on October 8, 2009.[5][6]

The show was created by Bill Lawrence and Kevin Biegel and is produced by Doozer (Lawrence's company) and Coquette Productions in association with ABC Studios. Filming for the series takes place at Culver Studios in Culver City, California.[7] The broadcasting of the pilot episode achieved 11.28 million viewers.[8] The second season of Cougar Town premiered on September 22, 2010 with 8.35 million viewers.[9] The third season, consisting of 15 episodes, was originally slated to premiere in November 2011[10] but due to ABC's promotion of the ill-fated Man Up! it premiered on February 14, 2012.[11][12] Following the third season finale, it was announced that TBS had purchased the rights to the series for an additional 15 episode season, to air in 2013, with options for additional seasons. -Wikipedia

Peter Gibbons: That's it? If you had a million dollars, you'd do two chicks at the same time?
Lawrence: Damn straight. I always wanted to do that, man. And I think if I were a millionaire I could hook that up, too; 'cause chicks dig dudes with money.
Peter Gibbons: Well, not all chicks.
Lawrence: Well, the type of chicks that'd double up on a dude like me do.
Peter Gibbons: Good point.
Lawrence: Well, what about you now? What would you do?
Peter Gibbons: Besides two chicks at the same time?
Lawrence: Well, yeah.
Peter Gibbons: Nothing.
Lawrence: Nothing, huh?
Peter Gibbons: I would relax... I would sit on my ass all day... I would do nothing.

Hot Rod Hottie: Mustang Convertible

Hot Rod Hottie
Mustang Convertible
The Ford Mustang is an automobile manufactured by the Ford Motor Company. It was initially based on the second generation North American Ford Falcon, a compact car.[1] Introduced early on April 17, 1964,[2] dubbed as a "1964½" model by Mustang fans, the 1965 Mustang was the automaker's most successful launch since the Model A.[3] The model is Ford's third oldest nameplate in production[citation needed] and has undergone several transformations to its current fifth generation. The Mustang created the "pony car" class of American automobiles—sports car-like coupes with long hoods and short rear decks[4]—and gave rise to competitors such as GM's Chevrolet Camaro,[5] AMC's Javelin,[6] and Chrysler's revamped Plymouth Barracudas and Dodge Challengers.[7] It also inspired coupés such as the Toyota Celica and Ford Capri, which were exported to the United States.

Sixth generation (Tentatively 2015) A radically redesigned Mustang is tentatively being scheduled for release in 2014, most likely as a 2015 model.[60] Though originally reported to be based strongly on the Ford Evos concept car,[61] the development of the Fusion based on the Evos indicates that, while the Mustang is expected to borrow some styling from the concept, it will not rely as heavily upon it and there has been no indication from Ford whether it will share the global platform with the Fusion and Ford Mondeo or sit upon a modified version of its current platform. Ford confirmed the 2015 Mustang will replace the traditional solid rear axle suspension with an independent rear suspension, and journalists have speculated that an EcoBoost engine option will be available, likely as a turbocharged 4-cylinder,[62] as well as a smaller-displacement, high-output V6 (code-named Nano) and V8 engine. -Wikipedia

Rod Stewart and wife Penny Lancaster

Rod Stewart and wife Penny Lancaster
Rod Stewart - Da Ya Think I'm Sexy Lyrics

"Da Ya Think I'm Sexy?"

Sugar, sugar

She sits alone waiting for suggestions
He's so nervous avoiding all the questions
His lips are dry, her heart is gently pounding
Don't you just know exactly what they're thinking

If you want my body and you think I'm sexy
come on sugar let me know.
If you really need me just reach out and touch me
come on honey tell me so
Tell me so baby

He's acting shy looking for an answer
Come on honey let's spend the night together
Now hold on a minute before we go much further
Give me a dime so I can phone my mother
They catch a cab to his high rise apartment
At last he can tell her exactly what his heart meant

If you want my body and you think I'm sexy
come on honey tell me so
If you really need me just reach out and touch me
come on sugar let me know

His heart's beating like a drum
'cos at last he's got this girl home
Relax baby now we are alone

They wake at dawn 'cos all the birds are singing
Two total strangers but that ain't what they're thinking
Outside it's cold, misty and it's raining
They got each other neither one's complaining
He say's I sorry but I'm out of milk and coffee
Never mind sugar we can watch the early movie

If you want my body and you think I'm sexy
come on sugar let me know
If you really need me just reach out and touch me
come on honey tell me so

If you really need me just reach out and touch me
come on sugar let me know
If you really, really, really, really need me
just let me know
Just reach out and touch me
If you really want me
just reach out and touch me
come on sugar let me know
If you really need me just reach out and touch me
come on sugar let me know
If you, if you, if you really need me
just come on and tell me so

Pumping Up With Hans & Franz

Pumping Up With Hans & Franz

Saturday Night Live - May 20, 1989
Season 14: Episode 20

Pumping Up With Hans & Franz
Hans.....Dana Carvey
Franz.....Kevin Nealon
Joseph Wilhelm Zieglefreud and Steve Martin

Franz: Alright. Enough talk. We're not here to talk. We're here to..

Together: pump.. [ they clap ] ..you up!

Franz: You know, many critics have complained that our training methods would never work for your average garden-variety girly-man!

Yah. You know. That's right, they say we are genetic mutants, you know, like Freddie Krueger!

Franz: Well, Mr. Critic Man, welcome to Nightmare on Muscle Street!

[ they flex their superiority ]

Franz: Here me now, and believe me later - anyone can achieve these results using our method!

Hans: That's right, and we have proof! We have taken the world's most pathetic girly-man, and turned him into the embodiment of perfect pumptitude!

Catchphrases
"I am Hans." "Und I am Franz." "Und ve just vant to pump... (clap) ...YOU UP!"
"Hear me now und believe me later..."
    "Girlie men"
"Poor little girlie man alone in his girlie house!!"
    "Pummela pummela pummela pummela pummela!"

Hans and Franz were characters in a recurring sketch called "Pumping Up with Hans & Franz" on the television sketch comedy show Saturday Night Live. Hans and Franz themselves were played by Dana Carvey and Kevin Nealon, respectively.

In the sketch, Carvey and Nealon play a pair of muscle-bound Austrian jocks who mimicked/spoofed Arnold Schwarzenegger by using padding for fake muscles, drab gray sweatsuits, weight belts, and Austrian accents. The background of the set includes several life-sized cutouts of Schwarzenegger during his competition years and the sketch's introduction music featured mock Austrian "yodeling".

"Pumping Up" primarily consists of Hans and Franz denigrating others for not being strong and as physically "fit" as they were, and then striking bodybuilder poses to show off their "muscled" bodies, complete with strained facial expressions. The two finally receive their just deserts when Arnold Schwarzenegger himself makes a guest appearance on the sketch (to much applause) and ridicules "his cousins" for being girlie and weak.

A movie was in the works for a short time, entitled Hans and Franz go to Hollywood but was scrapped once producers saw poor box office performances from such SNL sketch-inspired movies as Stuart Saves His Family and It's Pat. In late 2010, on the Conan program, Conan O'Brien and Nealon discussed how they were holed up in a Santa Monica hotel room for a month or so in the early nineties with Carvey and Robert Smigel, working on a script for the movie (which was to be a musical).

A short sketch spoofing VH1's Behind the Music specials was filmed for the show's 1999 primetime 25th Anniversary Special, but time constraints prevented it from airing. It went on to appear in a later episode that season. In the sketch, Hans and Franz tell the story of how they were reunited in Hollywood when Franz unsuspectingly has his buttocks "read" by Hans.
Cultural references

This sketch was one of the most popular on SNL, and the characters and their catchphrases entered American pop culture. When Schwarzenegger entered politics, he referred to the sketches himself, using the phrases "girlie men" and "pump you up." He even used the "girlie men" term during the 1988 Presidential election. Accompanying then Vice President George H.W. Bush, he attacked Bush's Democratic opponents by saying to the crowd: “They all look like a bunch of girlie men, right?" He used the phrase again to attack California state legislators in speeches during his election campaign for governor of California.

The two Crawler-transporter vehicles used by NASA are nicknamed "Hans" and "Franz" after the SNL characters.[1]

Two Designers from Germany, Konstantin Landuris and Horst Wittmann, work under the name of "hansandfranz", inspired by the "SNL" namegiving.

In the West Wing season 6 episode "The Wake Up Call", President Bartlet refers to the British prime minister's press conference as "getting all Hans & Franz" about the alleged shooting down of a British airplane by Iran.

Hans and Franz also appeared in the Cranium Command attraction in the Wonders of Life pavilion at Walt Disney World Resort's Epcot theme park.

In a Tiny Toon Adventures episode parodying SNL sketches, Buster and Plucky play as "Sigmund and Raymond", and played the sketch on "blowing up" their visitors. Hamton shows up and he is pumped with air.

Hale and Hardy, the accented, musclebound dachshunds in Garfield Gets Real, are likely based on Hans and Franz.

In 2008, Team Four Star released an episode of Dragonball Z Abridged featuring Goz and Mez, two characters that act like Hans and Franz. [2]

In the 2009 video game Borderlands, the player partakes in a boss fight against a pair of beefy, muscular men named Hans and Franz, a reference to the SNL duo. -Wikipedia

Nsaney's Girlfriend

Nsaney's Girlfriend

The word girlfriend was first used in 1863 as "a woman's female friend in youth.” In 1922, the word girlfriend was used to mean a man’s sweetheart.[

A girlfriend is a female partner one is romantically and/or sexually involved with. It can also refer to a female friend.[1]

This term is often used loosely, and there is some debate over what exactly constitutes a girlfriend.
Scope

Partners in committed non-marital relationships are also sometimes described as a significant other or simply partner, especially if the individuals are cohabiting.[2]

Girlfriend and partner mean different things to different people; the distinctions between the terms are subjective. How the term is used will ultimately be determined by personal preference.[3][4]

A 2005 study of 115 people ages 21 to 35 who were either living with or had lived with a romantic partner notes that the lack of proper terms often leads to awkward situations, such as someone upset over not being introduced in social situations to avoid the question.[5]

There exists some ambiguity between the terms "girl friend," or a friend who is a girl, and "girlfriend." The transition between the two is a significant aspect of adolescent development.[6]

Both forms of "girlfriend" and "girl friend" are used by different people to mean different things. For example, when the term "girlfriend" is used by a girl or woman about another female in a non-sexual, non-romantic context, the two-word form "girl friend" is sometimes used to avoid confusion with the sexual or romantic meaning; however, this is not a rule. In this sense of its usage, "girlfriend" is used in terms of very close friends and has no sexual connotations, unless it is in the case of lesbian, bisexual, or pansexual women. The term "girlfriend" is also used in LGBT communities and can refer to people of any sex or sexuality.[7][8]

The term "girlfriend" does not necessarily imply a sexual relationship, but is often used to refer to a girl or woman who is dating a person she is not engaged to without indicating whether she is having sex with him or her. With differing expectations of sexual mores, the term dating can imply romantic activity whereas simply using "friend" would likely avoid implying such intimacy. It is essentially equivalent to the term "sweetheart", which has also been used as a term of endearment
Word history

Dating entered the American language during the Roaring Twenties. Prior to that, courtship was a matter of family and community interest. Starting around the time of the Civil War, courtship became a private matter for couples. -Wikipedia

Wayne's World Quotes
Saturday Night Live SNL
Garth Algar: That is a babe. She makes me feel kinda funny, like when we used to climb the rope in gym class.

Wayne's World is a 1992 American comedy film directed by Penelope Spheeris and starring Mike Myers in his film debut as Wayne Campbell and Dana Carvey as Garth Algar, hosts of the Aurora, Illinois-based Public-access television cable TV show Wayne's World. The film was adapted from a sketch of the same name on NBC's Saturday Night Live.[1][2]

The film grossed US$121.6 million in its theatrical run, placing it as the tenth highest-grossing film of 1992 and the highest-grossing film ever based on a Saturday Night Live skit. It was directed by Penelope Spheeris, with Myers co-writing the script.[3] It was filmed in 34 days.[4]

Wayne's World was Myers' feature film debut. The film also featured Rob Lowe, Tia Carrere, Lara Flynn Boyle, Brian Doyle-Murray, Robert Patrick (spoofing his role in Terminator 2: Judgment Day), Chris Farley, Ed O'Neill, Ione Skye, Meat Loaf, and Alice Cooper.

Wayne's World received mostly positive reviews upon release and was commercially successful (unlike many Saturday Night Live-based films). It was followed by Wayne's World 2. In 1993, readers of Total Film magazine voted Wayne's World the 41st greatest comedy film of all time. -Wikipedia

'Dinneelan: Kentucky's Newest Theme Park
Disneyland Park, commonly known as Disneyland, is the first of two theme parks built at the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California, opened on July 17, 1955. Spanning 160 acres (65 ha) and the only theme park to be designed and built under the direct supervision of Walt Disney, it is dedicated to fairy tales and Disney characters. Disneyland has a larger cumulative attendance than any other theme park in the world, hosting approximately 600 million guests since its opening. In 2011, the park hosted approximately 16.14 million guests, making it the second most visited park in the world that calendar year.[6] The park is represented by Sleeping Beauty Castle, a replica of the fairy tale castle seen in the 1959 film. -Wikipedia

Deliverance is a 1972 American thriller film produced and directed by John Boorman. Principal cast members include Jon Voight, Burt Reynolds, Ronny Cox and Ned Beatty in his film debut. The film is based on a 1970 novel of the same name by American author James Dickey, who has a small role in the film as the Sheriff. The screenplay was written by Dickey and an uncredited Boorman.

Widely acclaimed as a landmark picture, the film is noted both for the memorable music scene near the beginning that sets the tone for what lies ahead: a trip into unknown and potentially dangerous territory, and for its famous "squeal piggy" male rape scene. In 2008, Deliverance was selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry by the Library of Congress as being "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant." -Wikipedia

A semi-automatic pistol is a type of handgun which uses a single chamber and barrel, with a mechanism powered by the previous shot to load a fresh cartridge into the chamber. One round is fired each time the trigger of a semi-automatic pistol is pulled.

A revolver, which uses multiple chambers and a single barrel, and a derringer, which uses multiple chambers and multiple barrels, also fire one round for trigger pull, but achieve this in different ways and as such are not classified as being semi-automatic.

Additional terms sometimes used as synonyms for a semi-automatic pistol are automatic pistol, self-loading pistol, autopistol, and autoloading pistol.

A semi-automatic pistol harnesses the energy of one shot to reload the chamber for the next, typically via recoil operation, blowback, or gas operation. After a round is fired, the spent casing is ejected and a new round from the magazine is loaded into the chamber, allowing another shot to be fired as soon as the trigger is again pulled.

Most types of semi-automatic pistols rely on a removable magazine to store ammunition before it is fired, usually inserted inside the grip.

History
After Hiram Maxim introduced his recoil-powered machine gun in 1883, several gunsmiths set out to apply the same principles to handguns, including Maxim. Maxim's designs for smaller firearms using his recoil-powered ideas never went into production. In the 1880s, other designers worked on self-loading designs. The first model to gain any commercial success was the Hugo Borchardt-designed C-93, designed in 1893 and made its public debut in 1894. Borchardt invented the C-93 mechanism, based in large part upon Maxim's toggle-lock principle. The C-93 featured a clever locking mechanism modeled after the human knee joint. in which the mechanical joint is called a knee, or in German Kniegelenk (knee joint).

The C-93 proved mechanically reliable, but was too large and bulky to receive widespread acceptance. Equipped with a screw-on wooden stock, the C-93 served well in small pistol carbines, Borchardt also developed the 7.65mm Borchardt cartridge, around which the C-93 was built.

In 1896, Paul Mauser introduced his first model of the famous Mauser "Broomhandle" semi-automatic pistol, the C96. Using the powerful 7.63mm bottlenecked cartridge originally designed by Borchardt, the Mauser was the first self-loading pistol used extensively in battle, notably the South African War of 1899-1902. These pistols were made in 7.63mm Mauser, along with some models eventually being made in 9mm Parabellum and a small number in .45 ACP for China.

In Belgium in 1896, the first American gun designer to develop self-loading semi-automatic pistols was John Browning, whose models were first manufactured by the Belgian firm of Fabrique Nationale (FN) in Europe and later by Colt in the US. Like Luger's work conducted around the same time in Germany, Browning's first successful design was in 7.65mm, the Browning M1900. Browning also devised a slightly different 7.65mm Browning (.32 Auto) cartridge for his semi-automatic pistol that differed from Luger's 7.65mm Parabellum. Browning also designed .25, .380, and .45 ACP cartridges in addition to .32 ACP for his semi-automatic pistol designs.

Browning also created the locked-breech action now commonly used by nearly all heavy-caliber semi-automatic pistols, and designed the .45 ACP Colt M1911, adopted by the US military in 1911. The Model 1911 is still in active use with some U.S. Special Forces and Marine Corps units. -Wikipedia

Julia Louis-Dreyfus net worth 3 Billion Dollars
Julia Louis-Dreyfus is an American actress who is most famous for her role as Elaine Benes in the sitcom Seinfeld. Your eyes aren't deceiving you and no we did not make a mistake when we say that Julia Louis-Dreyfus has a net worth of $3 billion. How is it possible that Julia has nearly twice as much money as Larry David and Jerry Seinfeld combined? It's not from acting, it's not from endorsements, and it's not from investing in real estate. Nope, a little known fact is that Julia is lucky to be the eldest daughter of billionaire Gerard Louis-Dreyfus, chairman of the Louis Dreyfus Energy Services.

Here's to those who wish us well,
and those that don't can go to Hell!

We were on track to have a 2.3 trillion dollar surplus by 2011 when Bill Clinton left office. George W. Bush with republican control gave away more than that in tax refunds (3 trillion dollars) shortly after taking office. He gave away almost 3 trillion dollars that we did not even have. Almost all of it going the to top couple of percent. BTW: That is when borrowing from China started escalated to insane levels.

“The single most important thing we want to achieve is for President Obama to be a one-term President.”
~Mitch McConnell, admitting what the only priority Republicans have had since 2008.

The republican agenda straight from the mouth of one of the big dogs. Not create jobs... Not help with the recovery of America. Although I think protecting the tax cuts for the rich might have been more important. I mean it is the ONLY thing they have accomplished.

Star Wars Female Stormtrooper Cosplay

Meanwhile: Sexy Stormtrooper Cosplay

The Imperial Stormtroopers are fictional soldiers from George Lucas' Star Wars universe. Stormtroopers are foot-soldiers for the Empire, under the leadership of the evil Sith Lord and Emperor Palpatine and his commanders, most notably Darth Vader and Grand Moff Tarkin.

They are shown in collective groups of varying organizational sizes ranging from squads to legions, and for some, their armor and training is modified for special operations and environments.

In Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones, the first troopers were cloned from bounty hunter Jango Fett, to be the Army of the Republic in the Clone Wars. In Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, the Clone troopers executed the Order 66 under command of Chancellor Palpatine, slaying their Jedi generals.

Initially, the stormtroopers serve as the army of the Galactic Empire, putting down revolts and establishing Imperial authority. They are the back bone of the Empire.[1] The Stormtrooper Corps swell in size after Palpatine allows the addition of recruits and conscripts alongside the clones, though the replacement of clones by natural beings lowered the effectiveness of the Empire's famed soldiers.

When the Empire is firmly stabilized and an Imperial Army/Imperial Navy established, the stormtroopers become Palpatine's personal army and are stationed on Imperial bases and cruisers, as well as on the Death Star. After Palpatine's initial defeat, the storm troopers continued to serve under the factions that broke apart from the Empire after Palpatine's death.

The troopers' most distinctive equipment is their white battle armor, inherited from their time as clone troopers. The complete armor set completely encases the body and typically has no individually distinguishing marking (in contrast to the clone trooper armor, which typically had various colorings to denote rank or unit, stormtrooper armor has no rank affiliation).

Liz Moore and Nick Pemberton sculpted designs for the helmet. Their designs were based on conceptual drawings by Ralph McQuarrie. The armor pieces of the costume were also designed from conceptual drawings by Ralph McQuarrie. Brian Muir, who was also responsible for sculpting Darth Vader, sculpted armor pieces for the stormtrooper costume in the Art Department at Elstree Studios. The suit was moulded and initially cast in plaster. Then Brian sharpened the detail at the plaster stage. The plaster casts were then remoulded and cast in fibreglass to use as the "tools" for vacuum forming process. Suits were produced in house by Tashy Baines, the resident vacuum former, but then a problem developed with the machine.

As Shepperton Design Studios had already been used to vacuum form the helmets, the fibreglass moulds for the armour were then sent to them for vacuum forming the suits.

By the end of production, two different helmets were produced; one for the common stunt trooper and a second design for close-ups. Fifty stunt helmets were produced in white-painted HDPE and six hero helmets were produced in white ABS plastic. Besides the material used, the two designs can be differentiated by differences in the eyes, the ears, and the mouth area.

The armor has also been the subject of light humor for years regarding its functionality. This is due to it making its wearer easy to see, restricting his movement and range of vision, and seeming to offer no real protection from blaster fire.

The copyright status of the armour has undergone legal challenges.[2] In the US it has been ruled to be under copyright; however, recent UK court decisions considered it to be industrial design, which is only protected for 15 years, and thus the armour is now in in the public domain, but only in the UK.

Stormtrooper Armor has several similarieties with German World War II military equipment. The distinctive helmet has a similar shape as the German Stahlhelm (also used during the latter half of World War I). The waist gear in some ways represents the ammunition pouches of German soldiers. Another similarity is the small cylindrical shaped case resting on the lower back of the wearer. The German gas mask canisters of World War II had the same cylindrical shape and also rested on the lower back.
